Care Guide
At Qirovane, we design garments that blend tailored sophistication with intricate details. To ensure your pieces maintain their structure and embellishments, please always prioritize the specific care instructions found on the garment's internal label or packaging. The guidelines below offer general best practices for our collection of suits, gowns, and resort wear.
Before You Clean: Check Your Label
Every item may have unique requirements based on its fabric composition and construction. Before attempting any cleaning method, locate the care tag sewn into the side seam or hem. If the tag indicates "Dry Clean Only," do not attempt to wash the garment at home, as this can damage structured blazers, delicate mesh overlays, and beaded surfaces.
Caring for Embellished & Structured Pieces
Many of our evening gowns and suit sets feature handcrafted details such as 3D floral appliqués, sequin beading, fringe sleeves, and ruched drawstrings. These elements require gentle handling to prevent snagging or detachment.
- Avoid Friction: When wearing beaded or sequined items, be mindful of rough surfaces like car seats, wooden chairs, or textured walls, which can pull threads or dislodge stones.
- Protect Appliqués: For pieces with 3D rosettes or dimensional textures, avoid folding directly over the raised elements during storage or transport to prevent crushing.
- Handle Zippers Carefully: Ensure all zippers are fully closed before washing (if permitted by the label) or storing to prevent teeth from catching on sheer fabrics like chiffon or mesh.
Daily Maintenance & Spot Cleaning
Frequent full washes can degrade fabric integrity. Instead, focus on low-risk maintenance after each wear.
- Air Out: After an event, hang the garment in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight to allow odors to dissipate and moisture to evaporate.
- Brush Off Dust: Use a soft-bristled clothing brush to gently remove surface dust from suiting fabrics and heavy skirts. Brush in one direction following the grain of the fabric.
- Treat Spills Immediately: If a liquid spill occurs, blot—do not rub—the area with a clean, white, absorbent cloth. Rubbing can push the stain deeper into fibers or distort the weave. For unknown stains or delicate embellishments, stop immediately and consult a professional cleaner.
Proper Storage Solutions
Correct storage preserves the silhouette and prevents permanent creasing or deformation.
- Hanging vs. Folding: Hang structured blazers and wide-leg trousers on padded hangers to support the shoulder shape. Heavy beaded gowns should also be hung, but ensure the hanger is sturdy enough to bear the weight without stretching the straps. Knitwear or very delicate lace items may benefit from being folded flat in tissue paper if hanging causes distortion.
- Keep It Dry: Store garments in a cool, dry place. Humidity can promote mold growth on natural fibers and tarnish metallic hardware or beads.
- Use Garment Bags: For long-term storage, place items in breathable cotton garment bags. Avoid plastic bags, which trap moisture and can yellow light-colored fabrics over time.
When to Seek Professional Help
If you encounter stubborn stains, loose beads, broken zippers, or significant wrinkling that cannot be resolved by steaming (only if the label permits), take the item to a qualified specialist. Inform them about the specific materials involved, such as embroidered mesh, satin linings, or synthetic blends, so they can select appropriate solvents and techniques.
